Our Story Begins With a Spark
There’s often a moment in our lives when something inside us shifts.
A quiet realization. A spark of truth. The beginning of understanding who we really are.
For many of us in the LGBTQ+ community, that moment can be both beautiful and terrifying. It asks us to look at ourselves honestly in a world that doesn’t always make space for that truth.
Sparked by Pride grew from that experience, from my own journey as a queer woman and the quiet ways so many of us learn to shrink ourselves just to feel safe.
But sparks have a way of growing into something bigger.
The Spark of Pride
Pride itself began with a spark.
On a hot June night in 1969, that spark ignited at the Stonewall Inn. What began as a moment of resistance became a movement fueled by courage, community, and the belief that LGBTQ+ people deserve to live openly and authentically.
That fire has been carried forward ever since — not just in protests or parades, but in everyday moments of bravery. In coming-out stories. In chosen families. In the quiet decision to live as our true selves.
Why Fire Became Our Symbol
Fire sits at the center of this brand because it reflects something deeply true about our lives.
Every fire begins with a spark, just like the moment we start to recognize who we are.
Fire is passion. It’s that deep inner knowing of your identity. It’s creativity, purpose, and the energy that pushes us toward living authentically. Like any flame, it needs fuel: honesty, courage, and community.
Fire is also resilience and transformation. So many of us have walked through rejection, shame, or fear — and still we rise. Not just surviving, but becoming. Letting go of the layers that were never truly ours and stepping closer to the people we have always been. Stronger. Clearer. More ourselves.
And fire gathers people. It creates warmth, makes space for stories, and reminds us we’re not alone.
The fire that burns inside each of us holds our story — our truth, our pain, our joy. No one gets to take that from us.
Why This Matters Right Now
We’re living in a time when many LGBTQ+ people are once again being asked to defend their right to exist and live authentically.
In moments like these, it can be tempting to dim our light or make ourselves smaller again.
But our history reminds us of something powerful: every step forward for our community began with someone choosing courage over silence.
